Cisco Unified Computing System Fabric Interconnect Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Related Vulnerabilities: CVE-2012-4116

A vulnerability in the Fabric Interconnect of Cisco Unified Computing System could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to capture KVM media connection credentials. The vulnerability is due to improperly securing the KVM media traffic between the server and the client. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sniffing network traffic. An exploit could allow the attacker to establish an authenticated connection with the KVM server. Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice; however, software updates are not available. To exploit this vulnerability, it is likely that an attacker would need access to trusted, internal networks to be positioned between the targeted device and a client transmitting KVM virtual media traffic. These conditions make it unlikely for an attacker to achieve a successful exploit. Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.
