A vulnerability in Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning (PCP) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access the Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) system. The vulnerability is due to an open port in the Network Interface and Configuration Engine (NICE) service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by accessing the open RMI system on an affected PCP instance. An exploit could allow the attacker to perform malicious actions that affect PCP and the devices that are connected to it. Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. This vulnerability affects Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning (PCP) Releases 11.6 and prior.
Administrators can determine the current PCP release from the Cisco PCP GUI:

Only products listed in the Vulnerable Products section of this advisory are known to be affected by this vulnerability.
There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.
Cisco has released free software updates that address the vulnerability described in this advisory. Customers may only install and expect support for software versions and feature sets for which they have purchased a license. This vulnerability is fixed in Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning Releases 12.1 and later.
